In both methods, hair follicles are extracted using FUE. In DHI, implantation is performed with a Choi implanter pen without opening channels beforehand, which allows grafts to be placed without damaging existing hair. In FUE Sapphire, channels are prepared using sapphire tips before implantation, which is often preferred for covering larger, completely bald areas.
